A pop-up window is a small web browser window that may open when you visit a website. Pop-ups are usually advertisements that appear while you are looking up a website. Disabling Pop-up Blockers Temporarily
Disabling This Feature on Mozilla Firefox (Windows)
- On the Firefox homepage, click on the option Tools, from the main menu, and select Options from the down drop menu.
- In the Options window, select the Content tab, and ensure that the check box, Block pop-up windows. is unchecked.
Disabling This Feature on Internet Explorer (Windows)
- From the menu bar, click on the tab Tools, and select Internet Options from the down drop menu.
- On the Internet Options window, select the Privacy tab, and disable the check-box, Turn-on Pop-up Blocker.
Disabling This Feature on Google Chrome (Windows)
- Click on the Google Chrome settings, which is on the top right corner of the Google Chrome home page and select Options from the down drop menu.
- In the Options window, select Under the Hood option.
- Various categories will appear on the right side of the options window, after clicking on Under the Hood option.
- Look out for Privacy category in the window and select Content Settings button, which is located on the right side of the Privacy category.
- Again in the Content Settings window, you will see many categories, among which you need to search for Pop-ups.
- Enable the check-box, Allow all sites to show pop-ups.
Disabling This Feature on Safari (Mac OS X)
- In the Safari web browser home page, select Safari, from the main menu bar.
- Uncheck Block Pop-Up Windows, from the down drop menu.
Disabling This Feature on Camino (Mac OS X)
- In the Camino web browser home page, follow the path – Camino → Preferences → Web Features.
- Uncheck the box, Block pop-up windows.
Disabling This Feature on Firefox (Mac OS X)
- In the Firefox web browser home page, follow the path – Firefox → Preferences → Content.
- Uncheck the box, Block pop-up windows.
Disabling This Feature on Opera
- On the top left corner of the Opera home page, you will see Menu tab. Click on it.
- Follow the path – Menu → Settings → Preferences.
- On the Preferences window, select General tab.
- Now, you will see Choose how you prefer to handle pop-ups, on the window, under this Pop-ups settings will be available.
- On the right-side of Pop-ups, you need to choose, Open all pop-ups, and then click on the OK button.
Pop-up blockers can be disabled in tool bars like MSN, Google, Yahoo, AOL etc., also. For that, you need to identify the pop-up settings symbol on the toolbar and change the settings. Before disabling the pop-up blocker, ensure that you don’t have software such as Pop-up Cop, Pop-up Stopper etc., installed in your computer.
