After Dell Streak 5 and Dell Streak 7, the company has come up with its all-new tablet PC – the Dell Streak 10 Pro, which was launched in China in July 2011. A report which will shed light on the technical specifications of this Android tablet from Dell.
That the much awaited Dell Streak Pro – the 10.1 inch tablet from the American multinational Dell Inc., is finally out, is good news indeed! The bad news though, is that those in the United States will have to wait for some more time before they finally get their hands on the same! In a not-so-surprising move, Dell chose China as the debut market for its 10 inch tablet, instead of its own home turf the United States. Not-so-surprising because Dell Vice President and manager for mobility business – John Thode, had earlier hinted at the fact that the company intends to launch its new tablet in China citing a number of ‘inhibitors and barriers to success‘ in the United States.
Going by the current trends, Dell Streak 10 Pro is only expected to debut in the United States in late 2011 or early 2012. While this wait can be a bit difficult with so many new tablets scheduled for release in the meanwhile, going through the technical specifications of Dell Streak Pro can make it easier for you to decide whether it’s really worth waiting for this 10-inch Android tablet from Dell.
Dell Streak 10 Pro Tech Specs: An Overview
As its name suggests, Dell Streak 10 Pro sports a 10.1-inch WXGA screen display, as opposed to its predecessors Dell Streak 5 and Streak 7. This Dell tablet is also armed with Gorilla Glass which is not just scratch-proof, but is also strong enough to sustain high impact. Other than the 10.1 inch wide screen (diagonally), Dell Streak 10 also boasts of Android 3.1 OS (aka Android Honeycomb) the tablet-specific Android operating system which debuted with Motorola Xoom earlier this year. Other Dell Streak 10 Pro features to take a note of include 1GHz Nvidia Tegra T20 Dual-Core processor, 5 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, Dell Divide app, and a whole lot of Android offerings. With the launch of Dell Streak 10 Pro, Dell has entered the 10-inch tablet war which has long been dominated by the likes of Apple iPad. In fact, this Dell tablet is in direct contention with Apple iPad 2, which has already made a mark in China, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10, which is expected to hit the Chinese market sometime soon. Though an American multinational, Dell Inc. does boast of a strong base when it comes to electronics market in China. That explains why Dell opted for a China debut for Dell Streak 10. At the same time, it is but obvious that the company is banking on Android Honeycomb OS aboard its new tablet to a great extent.
There is no questioning the fact that the popularity of Android OS has increased manifolds over the last few months, but is it enough to give Dell Streak Pro an edge on Apple iPad 2? Will the price tag of US$465 come to its rescue when it takes on the iPad? Will this Dell tablet edge out other 10 inch Android tablets available in the market? With questions like these existing in plenty, only time will tell whether Dell Streak 10 Pro can really hold ground in the tech arena which continues to be flooded with tablets from various manufacturers.
