You may have many AVI files on your computer that you would like to play on a DVD player. Nero 9 is an optical disc authoring program that you can install on your computer. Using it, you can burn AVI files to a DVD and play them on other devices. This is a very easy-to-use program and you need to follow a few simple steps to burn your audio/video files.

Burning AVI Files to a DVD with Nero 9

Begin with launching Nero 9. Once the program opens, look for the 'Rip and Burn' tab.

Click on 'Rip and Burn' and select 'Video Disk'. When you select 'Video Disk', a new window will open up. In this new express window, select 'Videos/Pictures' button. You will find this button on the left-hand-side tray of the window.

In this window, you need to click on the tab named 'Super Video CD'. Then, select 'Add' and locate the AVI file on your computer's hard disk. Select the file and click on the 'Add' button. This will result in the file loading into the Nero 9 program. After you are done adding the files, you need to click on the 'Close' button.

In the program window, you need to click on the tab that says, 'Next'. You can even try setting a DVD menu if you want. This will help you add certain features to your DVD menu. Then, finish off by giving a title to your DVD in the 'Disk Name' tab. You can even select the number of copies you wish to burn and then complete the burning process by clicking 'Burn'.

Once the burning process is complete, you can remove the disk from your computer. This disk will now be playable in your DVD player. This is a great way to enjoy your favorite movies on your home theater or share your favorite videos with friends. Also, this is a good way to make copies of your movie and video files, to preserve them longer.
