iTunes is the flagship music software that is owned by Apple. This article presents the simple steps by which you can uninstall this software, in case you want to opt for something that is different.
Even though I won’t recommend to uninstall this phenomenal Apple product, I’d not hinder your decision. For those who’ve had a tough time with managing gadgets and gizmos, let me tell you that Apple boasts the most upon iTunes. It’s a multi-faceted software dedicated to media playing, and can convert video files into MP3 or MP4 formats, edit files, make playlists, and performs everything that is essential for an all-inclusive media player. Mac
Go to the top left corner of your computer, and click on the folder that contains applications. Find iTunes application, click it, and drag it to your trash folder. After this, you need to go to the Utilities folder, and knock off the iTunes Helper. This is important as it will completely remove this software from your computer. Now, go to Utilities section, and select Activity Monitor. It contains iTunes Helper and you need to click on it. Furthermore, you’ll see a red stop sign that means you want to Quit Process. Restart your computer after this procedure is finished.
Windows Vista
Go to My Computer. Click Control Panel. Click Add or Remove Programs. When a list of applications emerges, search for iTunes and click on Uninstall/Remove. It’ll take a while to uninstall. In the same way, uninstall any other programs that are related to this software, and remove them completely and permanently. Restart your computer.
There are some tips you need to keep in mind before uninstalling iTunes:
- Ensure that you keep a backup of all the music files, before you start the removal process. This will save you from losing all your valuable data.
- Do not forget to uninstall the additional components that you have installed along with iTunes. Make sure to remove all of them, as their presence might hinder the removal process of iTunes.
