This process is mostly used by people who play PC games but it can be used for storing other data as well. Some people download ISO images of other files like operating systems, media players, editing softwares, etc, and create its DVD and use it.

The image in itself is enough to make the computer think that a disc is inside but making a DVD out of the content ensures that the backup is available.

The Process

The first thing you need to do is to get a good burning software installed on your machine. There are many softwares available in the market and one can download them from Internet.

As mentioned earlier, the actual process of burning an ISO can be completed within 10 minutes. All you need to do is open the DVD burning software and locate an option called ‘Burn an Image File’. Then you can locate the ISO file on your machine, insert a blank DVD inside the tray, and start the process.

However, one should note that burning the copyrighted content and further distributing it can be illegal. Hence, you must be very careful about what you do with the ISO file that you burn.

Here are some of the softwares that you can use. They all come with a help section which can also help you burn an ISO image.
