Following on the footsteps of its hugely popular predecessors, the third installment of the Crysis series did not disappoint. The graphics, the gameplay, the background score, all are at excellent, and we could not have expected any lesser. What adds to this is the gripping multi-player mode. The multi-player mode in Crysis 3 improve upon that of Crysis 2. The king-of-the-hill modes, Team Deathmatch, Assault, and Capture the Relay are the various modes that you can opt in for as you battle it out with your buddies. The new Hunter Mode is real interesting, and poses quite a challenge even for the seasoned campaigners of the Crysis series. |
Picking up from where its predecessor left off, Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception follows the adventures of the protagonist – Nathan Drake’s many adventures, on his quest to find lost treasure. The graphics are stunning, exactly what you have come to expect from the series. The gameplay is fluid, and you would feel right at home even if this is the first time you playing a game of the series. The many multi-player levels are very well thought out, and really challenge your skills. In fact, the multi-player mode is where this highly addictive game truly excels, and makes it one of the best multi-player games, even 2 years since its release. |
Building up on the success of the hugely popular Metal Gear Solid game for PSP, this game had some rather large shoes to fill in. The story follows on similar lines as on its PSP sibling, and talks about Naked Snake a.k.a. Big Boss as he tries to restore peace in Costa Rica, as it is ravaged by a mysterious armed force. The multi-player mode lets you take over as Big Boss, and his accomplices to fight their way through Costa Rica. The game requires for players to work together as a team, as they progress through the many complex levels. The game is loads of fun, and there is barely a dull moment right through it. |
The last part of the popular Mass Effect series, Mass Effect 3 delivers the same punch, and entertainment as the earlier two parts. Set in the distant future, this sci-fi game has a fantastic storyline, complement by some breathtaking visuals, which will have you rubbing your eyes in disbelief. The gameplay too is by far one of the best around. The unique thing about this game is that it is truly active, which means that the choices you make through the game affects the storyline. The online multi-player mode is one of the games strong points, and you get to choose from one of six six classes, each beautifully laid out, and posing their own unique challenges. |
A sequel to the hugely successful Borderland, this second installment of the series, builds on the success of the former, and in fact outdoes its predecessors in many aspects. Although the game doesn’t bring anything new to the table in terms of characters, or game play, it further works on the plot created by the first game of the series. The four main characters from the first part of the series are back, and this time they have many other characters for company. The storyline is excellent, and the transitions in the game are seamless. In the multi-player mode, now you have a split screen view, where you can compete with other players online, and even trade with them. Endless hours of entertainment guaranteed! |
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the sequel to the commercial hit, Black Ops, and is the ninth game of the COD franchise. Based in a futuristic setting, the game features a very competitive multiplayer mode, and also a new Zombies mode, in addition to the single-player campaigns. The choice you make along the course of the game makes affects the storyline, which adapts accordingly. The all new multi-player arena is extremely engaging, and will have you hooked on to the game for hours on end. Apart from the old characters, the game also features a lot of new characters, and tons of cool weapons, and powerups. |
Everyone of us (some openly admit it, and some don’t!), at some point in life has wanted to zip past the traffic, and take down a few ‘opponents’ in the process. While there might not be a safe way of doing this on the streets, you can definitely do all that, and a lot more, but with your PS3 joystick. Just when you thought the Burnout series couldn’t get any better, Burnout Paradise comes along, and changes all that. The game brings in all the thrills of the rides from the previous installments of Burnout, and throws in even more thrilling rides, race tracks, and challenges into the mix, making it arguably one of the best Burnout games of all time. The multi-player mode takes the gameplay to a whole new level, with impressive graphics, seamless transitions between the screens, and a well designed split-screen layout. |
This one is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Demon’s Souls is a dark game, with an excellent story line, and real strong characters that are bound to draw you in. Each characters has its own special moves, and powers, as they battle on with the dark forces. The different worlds that can be accessed through the ‘nexus’ are wonderfully laid out, and will definitely transport you into another dimension altogether. The multi-player mode is just as nice, and adds to the challenges of this addictive, and hard-to-beat game. |
Take a trip to the wild west, strutting along in the shoes of John Marston, as he takes down the bad guys. What makes this game very different from other games in this category is the fact that you aren’t restricted to just carrying out the missions (very engaging ones if I may add) that come your way, but you can also take up the optional missions which can help you earn rewards, and weapons. The town, Armadillo, is beautifully portrayed, and is very detailed, and well laid out. The multi-player mode too has a sizable chunk of missions, where you can choose to challenge your opponents at various missions, or simply get into a brawl with them. |
Want to experience being in a futuristic battlefield, with gunfire all around sans the real danger? Then Killzone 3 is just the perfect game for you. The third of the Killzone franchise brings in even better visuals, maps, characters, along with the superior game play. The game is a wonderful marriage of strategy and action, and will definitely get you hooked on in no time. The multi-player mode has plenty of maps, each with their own set of challenges. The graphics are splendid, but are let down with the low frame rate that the game supports. All-in-all though, with a perfect balance of the Killzone experience, coupled with real intuitive controls, and breathtaking visuals, and we have a winner on our hands. |
These were just some of the many mighty multi-player games available for the PS3. So what are you waiting for? Grab yourself a joystick, and let the games begin!
